“IF I HAD CLEAN CLOTHES I THINK PEOPLE WOULD TREAT ME LIKE A HUMAN BEING.”
– ERIC, A LAUNDRY LOVE PARTICIPANT
What is Laundry Love?
The Laundry Love initiative consists of regular opportunities to help people who are struggling financially by assisting them with doing their laundry. For those who are homeless or living below the poverty line, washing clothes presents both a logistical problem and a financial hardship. Laundry Love partners with local laundromats in cleaning the clothes of those living in shelters, motels, cars, garages and on the streets. Through generous donations from our community we are able to offer 100% free laundry to all who are in need.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
There are three ways you can get involved in the Laundry Love movement here in Madison.
First you can pray with us. Our aim is to be able to offer the poor of Madison more than just clean clothes. We strive to help raise people out of poverty and need your prayers to make that happen.
Secondly, you can give. The Laundry Love effort takes the investment of people like you to reach its full potential. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to this initiative. Remember to write Laundry Love in the memo line.
Finally, you can go. Laundry Love is a neighboring movement where we hope to build relationships that will outlast the clothes that we are washing. If you would like to be a part of the serving team at the next Laundry Love event, simply fill out the form below and we will be in touch with you.
When and Where is Laundry Love?
See the map below for our current Laundry Love Locations. We offer free Laundry Service the second Wednesday of each month starting at 7:00 pm. We operate on a first come first serve basis as there is room, so it is best to arrive a few minutes early.
