Well another Thanksgiving is in the books. I hope that the Spirit of the holiday will remain longer than the leftovers in your fridge. When the month of November began, I started posting daily to Facebook the things for which I’m thankful. I used the hashtag #thirtydaysofthanks. I gave thanks for the big things, family, friends, and eyesight. And I gave thanks for the “little” things like my phone or the sunshine. When I began posting it was basically an exercise in gratefulness. But as the days ticked away, I found my attitude throughout the day began to change. I woke up in the morning wondering what blessings I could share with the world. Even on tough days my mind kept going back to the many things for which I was thankful.
I am hopeful that the exercise will become a lifestyle. How much better would our world be if we faced each day with the attitude of gratitude?
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
We have so many blessings in our lives. Sometimes we just need to press pause on life and focus on them.
What are you thankful for?
