Check Us Out

The Women and Kids of the Journey are amazing.
We want to celebrate their unique talent and beauty. Each week we will feature a member of our community so we can get to know each other better.

We will ask for a fun photo of you and ask you some questions so we can get to know you better!

  • Do you have a nickame?
    • My nickname as a child was Squatty; because I was very short as a child my family said it looked as if I was squatting down. I have used it as an adult but few to none know me by that name.
  • What are your hobbies?
    • My hobbies include making art using found objects, painting pictures, making used furniture look new and modern, writing books, poetry.  Often in the past,  writing and singing songs were also my favorite things to do.
  • What are you most proud of?
    • In the past, I would never say I was proud of myself as I thought it to be arrogant. But having been in the grips of satan, I have to say that I am proud of how God has kept my mind free to love Him only.  I am proud that I still love Him with all of my heart and I am grateful that God allows my love for Him to grow bigger than I could ever imagine it could.
  • What does life look like in quaratine?
    • In these quarantine times, HA! quarantine times- sounds like a daily newspaper.  Well, my life has started out in fear. Fear that I would have to stay in this apartment without any relief from all the demonic energy. ...But with much coaching from God and his angels (you know who you are), I have decided that I was going to endure.  With God's help, I decided to outlast the attempts satan has made to snuff out the light I hold up to God.  I just love Him so much.
  • What's your favorite color?
    • As for favorite colors, being an artist, I have so many of them. Green, blue, orange, red, purple; you name it because they each have so many different hues.
  • What's your favorite word?
    • Seepage is my favorite word.  I know it's crazy but saying the word cracks me up; I don't know why.
  • What is your favorite thing to do for fun?
    • My hobbies and what I like to do for fun involve playing with my granddaughter, singing and writing songs, poetry and books, painting pictures, and riding bikes.
  • What makes you unique?
    • What makes me unique is being an empath.  I can feel people's joy and pain.  When people are excited around me, oh I am so excited.  So it goes without being said, I don't go to funerals.  Also, I have been told by professionals that I have a photographic memory.  I call it an audio sonic memory as I am able to recall verbatim, things people have said from 10-50 or so years ago with the same mood, tonation and manner it was said including pauses between words and etc. I can't do it so much these days but boy did I  freak people out with that.  I made up the term, 'audio sonic' by the way; photographic memory just doesn't fit the context.

  • Do you have a nickname?
    • I have a few nicknames. My dad calls me "Missy." The rest of the family calls me "Tootie" from the movie Meet Me in St. Louis. I am the youngest of 5 sisters and they lovingly refer to me as "The Child."What are you most proud of?I'm proud of my marriage to Jason. I always thank him for asking me to marry him. I am so proud of him and I think it's neat he asked me to be his wife!
  • What are your hobbies?
    • My hobbies include listening to podcasts, reading, backpacking/canoeing, and playing league of legends with my hubby. I grew up on older TV shows and movies so if I'm watching TV it's Murder, She Wrote, Mary Tyler Moore, M*A*S*H, and of course, The Office.
    • What does life look like in quarantine?
      • During quarantine I've been making 2-3 loaves of banana bread each week. Good thing I found a healthy recipe!
    • What's your favorite color?
      • I can't tell you my favorite color because Jason hasn't figured it out yet and this would give it away.
    • What's your favorite word?
      • My favorite word is Razzledazzle!
    • What do you do for fun?
      • For fun I like to have interesting conversations. Hit me up if you have a niche topic you want to chat about.
    • What makes you unique?
      • When Jason's mom asked him to describe me in one word he said, "unique." So you'll have to ask him that question 🙂
